Art in the Erdkinder

A Gift of Beautiful Orchids Inspires Wonderful Art in the EK Classroom. 

Please stop by the hallway in the main building to enjoy the results of our efforts.

Outlining my interpretation of the orchids. I will be using collage to make my art piece.

Using a variety of tools to help us study the orchids' shapes, colors and textures.

Getting color on to our drawing. Sometimes stepping away and revisiting our work the next day makes a big difference to how we see our own progression of the art piece.

Using the overhead projector to ensure our scale and perspective is accurate.

Spontaneous Concentration

On our own, we decided to put these materials back in order. First, this will help all our friends have neat and orderly materials to work with.
Second, the more we handle the material, the more we are drawn into using it. In fact, we are so focused right now that this feels like the most pleasing thing to do.

Science Fair 2015!

We had some great projects and excellent testable questions! Students from the EC and CH visited our projects during the afternoon, and parents came in the evening as part of our March Community Information Night.

Everyone was really interested in all of the experiments and wanted to understand our learning!
