High School Students Making Props for Spring Festival

Spring Festival is one of our most favorite times of year. It is a lot of work for the HS students to handle all of the decisions around this event themselves. They do everything with minimal intervention from the teachers: decide on how they wish to interpret the Spring Festival theme, plan their vignettes, write the scripts, select the music, choreograph their dances and also decide on props and costumes.

Often, we make everything from scratch using as many recycled and found materials as possible. Sometimes our technical and mechanical problems seem really insurmountable, but then with perseverance, we usually pull through and create a wonderful effect. This year, the students are experimenting with some very unusual visual effects for one of their vignettes, so we are excited and a little nervous to see how it turns out!
