Japanese Children's Day in Emeryville

The children celebrated Japanese Children's Day in May.
We decorated "Koi nobori (Carp Flag)" in the yard.

In the morning, we enjoyed the performance from "Eden Aoba Taiko Team".

The children had a chance to play the Japanese drum!
We also cooked Miso soup, Japanese rice balls and special Maki sushi for lunch.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed traditional Japanese games and activities.
Tsuna Hiki (綱引き)
Japanese water Yo-Yo (水風船つり)
Make and play the Can Stilts (缶ぽっくり)
Vegetable stamps (野菜ハンコ)on the Japanese handkerchief (手ぬぐい)
