Summer Camping 2015

We just returned from a wonderful week in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, CA. Felton is a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains, about 15 minutes outside Santa Cruz. We visited Henry Cowell and walked in the magnificent redwoods; checked out the Big Foot Museum(!); explored a castle in the woods; spent the day in Monterey; explored Roaring Camp, and countless other adventures. Plus, everyday we cooked, cleaned up and did chores around the campsite.

Here are a few selected photos from our trip!

Cooking breakfast at our camp
We played at Natural Bridges State Park - the water was cold!

The tallest covered bridge in America - next door to our camp!
We visited the "Mystery Spot." It was very intriguing indeed!

We explored all over the aquarium. A particular favorite was the Jellies and Tentacles exhibit!

The viewing platform above our campground - views to the ocean!

At Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove - typical summer jinks!
Almost full moon over Henry Cowell
Looking over Monterey Bay and viewing seals and cormorants
Washing up - an important part of camping life.
We spotted seals and sea otters in the ocean waves.

Journal writing in camp.
The fire pit. We made s'mores most nights.
